A Long, Long Time Ago in Greece
Long, long ago, on the land of Greece, people had no idea what grapes were, let alone how to make delicious wine. At that time, there was a god named Dionysus. He was the god of wine, full of miraculous power and infinite wisdom.
Dionysus noticed that although people's lives were simple and happy, there was a lack of a drink that could make the joy more intense. So, he decided to spread the knowledge of grape - planting and winemaking to mankind.
Dionysus came to a village. When the villagers saw him wearing a magnificent robe and a wreath made of grapevines on his head, they were very curious. His eyes sparkled with a gentle light, and there was a kind smile on his face.
Dionysus walked among the villagers and began to tell them about the wonders of grapes. He took out a small grape seedling from his robe. The tender green leaves glittered with vitality under the sun. The villagers gathered around, their eyes full of doubt and curiosity. Dionysus patiently explained to everyone that this small plant would grow into bunches of sweet fruits in the future. He told the villagers that grapes needed fertile soil, plenty of sunlight and an appropriate amount of water to thrive.
The villagers were skeptical after hearing Dionysus' words. But Dionysus was not angry. He led the villagers to a hillside outside the village. The land here was fertile and the sunlight was sufficient. Dionysus started to do it himself and taught the villagers how to dig holes, plant grape seedlings, water and fertilize.
As time passed, the grape seedlings grew gradually. The tender green leaves became denser, and the vines began to climb on the racks. The villagers took good care of the grapevines every day, and they were full of gratitude to Dionysus.
Finally, bunches of purple grapes hung on the grapevines. Dionysus came to the village again. He was going to teach the villagers how to turn these grapes into delicious wine. Dionysus led the villagers to pick the ripe grapes and put them into large wooden barrels. He taught the villagers how to gently tread on the grapes with their feet to let the grape juice flow out. At first, the villagers thought it was a bit strange, but seeing Dionysus' serious look, they also followed suit.
Then, Dionysus showed the villagers how to ferment the grape juice in specific containers. He told the villagers that this process required patience, just like waiting for the grape seedlings to grow. Under Dionysus' guidance, the villagers carefully completed every step.
After a while, the wine was finally made. When the villagers tasted the mellow wine, their faces were filled with happy smiles. This drink had a unique aroma and wonderful taste, making people's joy more intense.
Since then, the people in this village have learned to plant grapes and make wine. They spread this knowledge to the surrounding villages, and more and more people began to enjoy the pleasure brought by wine. And Dionysus also became a highly respected god in people's hearts. His name has always been associated with grapes and wine. Whenever people taste wine, they will think of Dionysus' generosity and wisdom.
