Once upon a time, on a peaceful farm in the United States, there lived a mother goat and her three little goats. The mother goat was a very attentive and wise mother. She was well aware of the dangers around the farm, especially the sly wolf.
One day, the mother goat called her three little goats to her side. With a serious expression but a gentle tone, she said, "My little darlings, the world is not always as wonderful as our meadow. Around the farm, there is a very, very bad wolf. He always wants to harm us." The little goats' eyes widened in fear when they heard this.
The mother goat continued, "So, when you play outside alone, you must be careful. If you see a creature with sharp claws, long teeth, and a fierce look in its eyes, it must be the wolf." The youngest little goat trembled and asked, "Mom, what should we do then?" The mother goat gently stroked its head and said, "If you are in the house, never open the door casually, no matter what he says. He might pretend to have a friendly voice, saying that he is your friend, or that he is just passing by and wants to borrow something, but these are all his lies."
The three little goats nodded earnestly. The second little goat asked, "Mom, what if we meet him outside?" After thinking for a while, the mother goat replied, "If you meet him outside, don't get entangled with him. Run to the nearby farmer as quickly as possible. The farmer will protect you."
As days passed by, the little goats always remembered their mother goat's words. One day, when the three little goats were playing on the grass, suddenly they heard a low growl. The eldest little goat lifted its head alertly. It saw a pair of cold - shining eyes in the grass. It immediately realized that this might be the wolf that mom had mentioned. It whispered to its younger siblings, "It might be the wolf. Let's do as mom said and run to the farmer quickly." So, the three little goats ran quickly towards the farmer's house.
Seeing that the little goats were about to run, the wolf sprang out from the grass, running and shouting, "Little darlings, don't run away. I'm your friend. I just want to play with you." But the little goats didn't listen at all and ran even faster.
When the little goats reached the farmer's house, they knocked on the door desperately. The farmer opened the door, saw the panicked little goats, and let them in. The wolf chased to the front of the house, saw that the little goats had safely hidden in the house, and could only leave helplessly.
After that, the little goats understood even more how important their mother goat's teachings were, and they lived on the farm more carefully.
