In a large forest in Russia, there lived a little fox and a little rabbit. The little fox lived in a cave on a small hillside, and the little rabbit's home was in a small hole beside a bush. At first, like other animals in the forest, the little fox and the little rabbit were very afraid of each other. The little fox thought that the little rabbit was always bouncing around, looking very clever and not easy to deal with; as for the little rabbit, it thought that the little fox's eyes were rolling around, surely full of bad ideas.
One day, while looking for food in the forest, the little fox accidentally fell into a trap set by a hunter. The trap was very deep, and no matter how hard the little fox jumped, it couldn't get out. It anxiously called for help loudly in the trap. The little rabbit happened to pass by here. When it heard the little fox's cry, it was extremely frightened. It thought, "Could this be the little fox's trick?" But then the little rabbit thought again, "What if it's really in danger?" Finally, the kind - hearted little rabbit still carefully approached the trap.
The little rabbit found a long vine. It threw one end of the vine into the trap and shouted to the little fox, "Little fox, grab this, and I'll pull you up." The little fox was very grateful. It tightly grasped the vine, and the little rabbit used all its strength and finally pulled the little fox out. After getting out of the trap, the little fox said to the little rabbit, "Little rabbit, thank you. I used to think you were a coward, but I didn't expect you to be so brave and kind." The little rabbit blushed and said, "You're welcome. I used to think you were very bad too."
Since then, the little fox and the little rabbit have become good friends. They often play together in the forest. The little fox will take the little rabbit to the secret little garden it discovered, where there are all kinds of beautiful flowers; the little rabbit will also take the little fox to its favorite small hillside, from where they can see the whole forest's beautiful scenery. They share food together. The little fox will share the little bugs it caught with the little rabbit (although the little rabbit doesn't like eating bugs very much, it is very grateful for the little fox's sharing), and the little rabbit will share its own carrots with the little fox. Other animals in the forest are very surprised to see them become friends, but the little fox and the little rabbit don't care. They know that their friendship is very precious. This story has also spread in the forest, making the small animals understand that they can't judge others just by the first impression, and friendship is a wonderful existence that transcends prejudice.
