In a small fishing village in India, there lived a little boy named Raju. Raju liked playing by the seaside very much. Every day, he would go to the beach to look for shells when the tide was out. One day, he picked up a special shell. This shell was bigger than any shell he had ever seen before, and there were strange patterns on the surface of the shell, as if it was telling an ancient story.
After Raju took the shell home, when he went to bed at night, he put the shell beside his pillow. Suddenly, the shell emitted a soft blue light, and Raju sat up in surprise. There seemed to be a small whirlpool in the blue light, and Raju curiously put his hand into it.
Raju found himself in a wonderful world, where there were twinkling lights and all kinds of marine creatures everywhere. A wise old sea turtle swam over and said to Raju, "Welcome to the world of ocean wisdom. This shell is a treasure of our ocean, and it contains the wisdom of the ocean." Raju looked around excitedly. He saw many small fish swimming around him, and the scales on their bodies twinkled with the light of wisdom.
The old sea turtle took Raju to tour this magical world. They came to a palace made of coral. In the palace lived the wise one of the ocean - a huge octopus. The tentacles of the octopus twinkled with different colors of light, and each color represented a kind of ocean wisdom.
The wise octopus said to Raju, "Child, the wisdom of the ocean is infinite. We should learn to respect the ocean and protect every life in the ocean." Raju nodded earnestly. The wise octopus then gently touched Raju's forehead with its tentacle, and suddenly Raju felt that his mind was full of knowledge about the ocean. He knew how to predict storms and how to help injured marine creatures.
After spending a wonderful time in this magical shell world, Raju knew it was time for him to go home. He said goodbye to the old sea turtle and the wise octopus, and then followed the whirlpool of blue light back to his room.
Since then, Raju has become the smartest child in the small fishing village. He would tell everyone when it was suitable to go to sea, and he would also help injured seabirds and small fish. And that magical shell is still beside his pillow. Whenever night comes, it will still twinkle with a soft blue light, as if it is recalling that wonderful journey.
