In a small village in India, there was a large mango orchard. In this orchard lived a lovely little fairy, and everyone called her Mango Fairy. Mango Fairy had a pair of transparent wings, and her body emitted a faint mango fragrance. Her duty was to guard this mango orchard and let the mango trees grow healthily and bear big and sweet mangoes.
One day, when Mango Fairy was patrolling the mango orchard, she found that the leaves of a mango tree were a little yellow. She was very worried, so she flew to the branch of that tree and examined it carefully.
Mango Fairy found that there were some small insects nibbling on the leaves on the tree. If these insects were not removed, the whole tree might get sick. She decided to go and find Doctor Woodpecker for help. Mango Fairy flew into the forest to look for Doctor Woodpecker's home. There were many tall trees in the forest. She shuttled among the trees, flying and shouting for Doctor Woodpecker at the same time.
Finally, Mango Fairy found Doctor Woodpecker's home on an ancient big tree. After listening to Mango Fairy's story, Doctor Woodpecker immediately followed her to the mango orchard. Doctor Woodpecker used its long beak to catch out the small insects on the tree one by one. The leaves of the mango tree slowly became green again.
Mango Fairy was very grateful to Doctor Woodpecker. She picked a few ripe mangoes from the mango tree and gave them to Doctor Woodpecker. Doctor Woodpecker happily accepted them and then flew back to the forest.
However, Mango Fairy's adventure was not over yet. Soon after, a group of naughty children came to the village. When they saw the mango trees full of mangoes in the orchard, they wanted to secretly pick some. After Mango Fairy found out, instead of getting angry, she turned into a little girl and appeared in front of the children.
Mango Fairy said to the children, "These mangoes are not fully ripe yet. If you pick them now, they won't taste good. When the mangoes are fully ripe, I will invite everyone to come and taste them together." The children thought what Mango Fairy said was very reasonable, so they no longer wanted to steal mangoes.
Day by day passed, and the mangoes were finally ripe. Mango Fairy invited all the people in the village to come to the mango orchard. Everyone enjoyed the delicious mangoes to their heart's content in the mango orchard, and the laughter and chatter echoed throughout the whole mango orchard. Mango Fairy looked at everyone's happy faces and also smiled happily. She knew that guarding the mango orchard not only meant protecting the mango trees, but also making sure that everyone could share the joy brought by mangoes.
