On the seashore of Norway, there stands an abandoned lighthouse for a long time. This lighthouse once guided countless ships, but with the passage of time, it has been gradually forgotten by people and stands alone on the reefs by the sea. There was a little boy named Tom, who was very brave and full of curiosity about everything around him. He always heard the old people in the village talk about that mysterious lighthouse. It was said that there were strange sounds and flickering lights and shadows inside, so no one dared to get close.
However, Tom didn't believe those terrifying legends. He decided to explore the lighthouse. One day, without telling his family, he rowed a small boat alone towards the lighthouse. When he finally reached the foot of the lighthouse, he looked up at this tall and somewhat dilapidated building. The walls of the lighthouse were covered with moss, and the door was already rusty. He took a deep breath and pushed open that heavy door.
There was a stale smell inside, and countless unknown things seemed to be hidden in the darkness. Tom walked up the dusty stairs carefully. With every step he took, the stairs would make a "creak - creak" sound. His heart began to beat faster, but he kept telling himself to be brave. When he reached the second floor, he found a shabby room, and there was a dusty nautical log in the room.
Tom opened the nautical log and read it in the dim light. It turned out that there used to be a lighthouse keeper here, and he had recorded many stories of passing ships here. Those strange sounds and lights and shadows were actually the sounds made by some old equipment of the lighthouse and the light reflected under the action of the sea breeze. Knowing the truth, Tom's fear disappeared completely.

After returning to the village, he told this story to everyone.
