In a small town in Russia, there lived an old man named Ivan. He was a postman. Every day, old Ivan's job was to ride his bicycle through the alleys and streets of the town, delivering letters and parcels to every household. He had a very loyal puppy named Bobby. Bobby was furry, with black and shiny eyes, and it followed old Ivan everywhere every day.
One day, old Ivan accidentally sprained his ankle and couldn't go to deliver the mail. But the people in the town were all waiting for their letters. What could be done? Just when old Ivan was worried, Bobby seemed to understand his master's thoughts. It walked up to the old man, rubbed its head against the old man's hand, then picked up the letter placed aside, wagged its tail, as if telling the old man that it could go to deliver the mail. Old Ivan looked at Bobby in surprise, but thought it could give it a try. So, he sorted the letters according to the addresses and hung them around Bobby's neck.
Bobby set off with the letters. It ran on the streets of the town. Although it was small, its steps were very firm. First, it came to a house on the east side of the town. This was an old grandma's home. Bobby scratched the door with its paw. When the old grandma opened the door, she was surprised to see Bobby with a letter in its mouth. She took the letter with a smile and stroked Bobby's head, praising it as a clever little thing. Bobby wagged its tail happily and then ran to the next address.
Bobby came to a small garden. A little girl lived here. The little girl was watering the flowers in the garden. When she saw Bobby running over, she curiously put down the watering can. Bobby walked up to the little girl and gently placed the letter at her feet. The little girl happily picked up Bobby and also took out a small biscuit from the house to feed it. After eating the biscuit, Bobby continued its mail - delivering journey.
When the sun was about to set, Bobby finally delivered all the letters. It returned to old Ivan's home. Although it looked a little tired, its eyes were full of pride. Old Ivan saw Bobby come back safely and deliver all the letters successfully. He was so moved that he picked up Bobby and kept praising it. Since then, all the people in the town have known this clever and loyal puppy postman, Bobby.
