Story Summary

A natural story about seed dispersal.

On a fertile piece of land, there live many different kinds of seeds. There are tiny sesame seeds, round pea seeds, and dandelion seeds that look like little wings. All of them are in the embrace of Mother Earth, waiting for their own journeys.

Among them was a little cocklebur seed, which was covered with sharp little spines. It always heard Grandma Wind talk about the far - away world, where there were high mountains and wide rivers, and it was eager to go and see.

A little cocklebur hanging on a small animal

One day, a little rabbit hopped past this land. The little cocklebur seed saw it and thought to itself, "This is a great opportunity." So when the rabbit got close, the little cocklebur seed tightly hooked onto the rabbit's fur with its spines. The rabbit didn't notice at all and started running with the little cocklebur seed.

The little cocklebur seed was extremely excited. It watched the surrounding scenery keep changing. It saw thick woods and colorful flowers. The rabbit ran for a long time and came to a new meadow. The little cocklebur seed thought this place was also very nice, so it loosened its spines, fell off the rabbit, and made its home on this new piece of land.

Dandelion seeds floating in the wind

And what about those dandelion seeds? They were waiting for the wind to come. Finally, a gentle breeze blew gently. The dandelion seeds, like little parachutes, left their mother's embrace one after another and floated in the wind. They floated and floated, flying over the fields and villages. Some dandelion seeds landed on the hillside, and some on the riverside. They took root and sprouted in new places and began a new life.

Pea seeds bouncing away

Now look at those pea seeds. They lived in pods. The pods grew bigger day by day and became plump. Suddenly, with a "pop", the pods burst open. The pea seeds, like naughty little marbles, bounced and hopped away from the pods. Some of them rolled into the cracks of stones, and some into the grass. No matter where they were, they all strived to absorb water and sunlight and wanted to grow up quickly.

Each seed began its journey in its own unique way, grew vigorously in new places, and made the earth more beautiful.
