Story Summary

The story of hard - working bees at work.

In a beautiful garden, there lives a group of hard - working little bees. In this garden, all kinds of colorful flowers are in full bloom, such as delicate roses, brilliant sunflowers, and elegant lilies. Their fragrances fill the air. The bees' home is in a big tree in the garden, where there is a huge beehive.

Every early morning, when the first ray of sunlight shines on the garden, the bees start their day's work. The queen bee is the leader of the whole beehive. She directs the little bees to fly to different flowers to collect honey. The little bees are very obedient to the queen bee. They fly out of the small hole of the beehive in an orderly queue.

Bees flying towards flowers

The little bees flutter their transparent wings and buzz in the air. They soon fly into the flower clusters. Each little bee has its own task. They need to look for those flowers that are the most gorgeous and have the most pollen. The little bee lands on the flower. There are fine hairs on its six little legs. These hairs are like small brushes and can easily pick up pollen. They insert their long mouthparts into the stamen of the flower, sucking the sweet nectar, and at the same time getting covered with pollen.

Some little bees will also communicate with each other. They use a unique dance to tell their companions where there are more and better flowers. For example, if a little bee finds a large area of blooming sunflowers, it will perform a special dance in front of the beehive to tell other bees the direction and distance of the sunflowers.

Bees collecting honey on flowers

The little bees are busily working on the flowers. They keep sucking nectar and then store the nectar in their honey sacs. The honey sac is like a small pocket, full of nectar. When a little bee's honey sac is full, it will fly back to the beehive. On the way back to the beehive, the little bee also has to be careful of other dangers, such as naughty birds or sly spiders. But the little bees are very clever and they can always skillfully avoid the dangers.

After returning to the beehive, the little bee spits out the nectar in its honey sac and hands it over to the worker bees who are specially responsible for processing the nectar. These worker bees will process the nectar. They keep flapping their wings to make the water in the nectar evaporate, so that the nectar will become thicker and thicker, and finally turn into sweet honey.

Bees are busy inside the beehive

The whole beehive is a busy scene. Besides processing nectar, the worker bees also have to take care of the queen bee and the baby bees. The queen bee is in the center of the beehive. She lays a lot of eggs every day. These eggs will hatch more little bees. The baby bees live in small cells. They are still very fragile and need the careful care of the worker bees. The worker bees will feed the baby bees with special food to make them grow up quickly.

And those little bees that come back from collecting honey, after taking a short break, will set off again and fly towards the flowers in the garden. They work hard day after day like this because they know that only through their own efforts can they harvest sweet honey and make the whole beehive full of vitality. Their hard work not only brings food for their own family but also spreads pollen for the flowers in the garden, making the garden more beautiful.
