In ancient Greece, there was a little boy named Alex. He liked playing in the forest very much. One day, he ran too far into the forest and, before he knew it, he got lost. As the sun gradually set in the west, the forest became eerie and terrifying. Alex began to be afraid. He looked around for the way home, but all the surrounding trees looked exactly the same.
Alex sat under a big tree and cried. He was hungry and tired and didn't know what to do. Just when he was feeling desperate, suddenly, a soft light appeared in front of him. He looked up and saw a beautiful goddess standing in front of him. This goddess was Hecate, the moon goddess, holding a bright torch in her hand.
Hecate smiled and said to Alex, "Child, don't be afraid. I will take you home." Alex looked at the goddess, his eyes full of hope. He wiped away his tears, stood up and took Hecate's hand. Hecate held up the torch and illuminated the path ahead for Alex. The light of the torch was very warm, driving away the darkness and cold in the forest.
Under Hecate's guidance, they walked slowly in the forest. Alex saw some small animals attracted by the light of the torch and following them. He was no longer afraid. Instead, he thought it was a very interesting adventure. Hecate told Alex stories about the forest as she walked, telling him which plants were edible and which animals were friendly.
Finally, Alex saw his own house. He jumped up happily and ran towards his home. He turned around, wanting to thank Hecate, but the goddess had disappeared. Alex knew that it was Hecate's mercy and kindness that helped him find his way home. Since then, Alex often looks at the moon at night, his heart full of gratitude to Hecate. He has also learned to be like Hecate and help those in trouble.
