In a small town in France, there lived a little girl named Lucy. Lucy was a very naughty child. She never cherished time and was always procrastinating when doing things. One day, while playing in the attic, she discovered a very old and peculiar clock. The hands of this clock seemed to be made of star fragments, and the dial was engraved with strange symbols, emitting a mysterious glow all around. Curiously, Lucy walked closer to the clock and found a small note beside it, which read: "This is a magic clock. It can change time, but use it with caution."
Lucy didn't believe what was written on the note at all. She thought it was just a prank. So, she randomly fiddled with the hands of the clock. Suddenly, something amazing happened. The sky outside the window instantly turned pitch - black, and the stars all emerged at once. The town, which should have been in daytime, was plunged into night. Lucy was a little scared, but also found it very interesting. She thought, since it could turn day into night, could it also turn night into day? She fiddled with the hands again, and the night turned back into day.
Lucy began to keep fiddling with the hands. She adjusted the time to winter for a while, watching the snowflakes falling outside; then she adjusted it to spring, admiring the blooming flowers. She thought it was so much fun that she completely forgot about the normal passage of time. However, slowly, she realized that something was wrong. Because she changed the time so frequently, the people in the town began to get confused. Farmers didn't know when to sow, merchants didn't know when to open their stores, and everyone was living in chaos.
Seeing the chaos she had caused, Lucy felt very guilty. She realized that time was a very precious thing. Everyone's life proceeded in an orderly manner according to the law of time and should not be randomly disrupted. So, she began to try to adjust the time back to normal. However, because she had randomly fiddled with the hands before, the hands of the magic clock became very difficult to control. It took her a great deal of effort to slowly adjust the hands to the correct position.
When Lucy finally adjusted the time properly, the town regained its former calm. Farmers began to sow and harvest normally, merchants also opened their stores as usual, and children went to school and played at the appropriate times. Since then, Lucy has never wasted time again. She knows that every minute and every second has its meaning and should be cherished.
