Story Summary

An educational story about an old wise tree in the forest teaching small animals.

In an ancient and mysterious forest in England, there is a very special wise old tree. This tree has been around for a very long time. Its trunk is so thick that it takes several small animals to encircle it hand in hand. The wise old tree is like a kind - hearted elder, guarding all the small animals in this forest.

All the small animals in the forest respect this wise old tree very much. They often sit around the old tree and listen to it tell all kinds of knowledge and principles. There is a clever little fox, a lively and lovely little rabbit, and a simple and honest little bear.

Small animals sitting around the old tree

One day, while chasing a butterfly, the little fox accidentally fell into a trap set by a hunter. The little fox was extremely frightened and shouted for help desperately. The little rabbit heard the little fox's shouts and hurriedly ran to the wise old tree for help. After hearing the little rabbit's words, the wise old tree said calmly, "Don't panic. We should think of a way calmly."

So, the wise old tree directed the little bear to find a long branch, and then let the little rabbit pass one end of the branch to the little fox in the trap. The little fox grasped the branch tightly, and the little bear and the little rabbit worked together and finally pulled the little fox out of the trap.

The little fox is rescued from the trap

After being rescued, the little fox was very grateful for everyone's help and also regretted being too rash when chasing the butterfly just now. Looking at the little fox, the wise old tree said earnestly, "Children, this incident is a lesson. In the forest, there are many hidden dangers. We can't forget the existence of danger because of momentary playfulness."

All the small animals nodded seriously. They sat around the wise old tree and listened to the old tree continue to talk about safety knowledge in the forest. The wise old tree told them where there might be traps set by hunters, which plants were inedible, and how they should help each other when in danger.

The small animals listen attentively

Since then, the small animals have been more cautious. They keep the teachings of the wise old tree in mind and remind each other. Life in the forest is still full of joy, but when the small animals are playing, they also keep vigilant all the time.

The wise old tree also continues to guard this forest, using its wisdom to teach generations of small animals, allowing them to grow up healthily and happily in this beautiful forest.
