In a small village in India, there was a little girl named Maya. This village suffered from a terrible drought. The crops were almost withering away, and the villagers' lives were full of despair. Maya was a kind and hopeful child. Every day, she would go to the small lake near the village to pray, hoping for a miracle to happen.
One day, when she came to the lake as usual, she noticed a small flower bud in the center of the lake. This bud was very special. There was a faint glow around it, and seven colors were faintly visible in it, just like the colors of a rainbow. Maya was very surprised and stared at this bud intently.
As time passed, the flower bud began to grow slowly. Maya would come to see this flower bud every day and pour the little water she had around the bud. When the villagers saw what Maya was doing, they all thought she was doing something useless, but Maya didn't give up. The flower bud grew day by day, and its colors became more and more vivid.
A few days later, a light rain gently fell on the village. Although the rain was not heavy, it brought a glimmer of life to the dying crops. And the flower bud in the lake, under the nourishment of the rain, began to bloom. The petals opened one by one, and each petal was a different color, red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple, as beautiful as a rainbow.
When the rainbow - colored lotus fully bloomed, a huge rainbow appeared in the sky. Immediately after that, it began to rain heavily, and this heavy rain moistened the entire village. The dry land became wet, and the withered crops regained their vitality. The villagers all ran outside, cheering and celebrating this miracle.
Maya stood by the lake, looking at the rainbow - colored lotus, with a happy smile on her face. She knew that this magical lotus had brought hope and vitality. Since then, the village has never suffered from drought again, and the villagers have also learned to always be hopeful like Maya and cherish nature.
