In a small town in Germany, there lived a little girl named Lily. Lily was an extremely kind - hearted child and was always ready to help others. Whether it was the old granny next door who couldn't carry things or little animals in trouble, Lily would offer a helping hand.
One night, Lily was looking up at the starry sky in her small garden. The stars were twinkling as if winking at her. Suddenly, a soft starlight fell in front of her, and a tiny, glowing elf appeared before her eyes. This elf had transparent wings and was dressed in a garment made of stardust.
Lily looked at the elf in surprise, but she wasn't afraid. The elf said to Lily in a clear voice, "I am the Starlight Elf. I can sense the kindness in your heart. You are a very special child, and I can grant you one wish." Lily thought for a while. She saw that some children in the town were unable to play happily like her because they were ill, so she said, "I hope all the sick children in the town can get well soon."
The Starlight Elf listened to Lily's words and waved its magic wand with a smile. A stronger starlight shot out from the tip of the magic wand and flew to every corner of the town. Those sick children all felt a warm force in their sleep, and their pain gradually disappeared.
The next day, Lily saw that those sick children had recovered. They were playing merrily in the town square. Everyone was very happy, and laughter echoed throughout the town. Lily knew that it was all the work of the Starlight Elf, and her heart was full of gratitude.
At night, Lily came to the small garden again. She wanted to thank the Starlight Elf. The Starlight Elf appeared once more, and Lily said to it, "Thank you. You've made everyone so happy." The Starlight Elf said, "It was your kindness that made all this happen. As long as you keep your kind heart, I will always guard this town." Since then, Lily has been more determined to be a kind - hearted person, and the Starlight Elf often silently guards everyone under the starlight in the town.
