The Flea and the Professor

The Flea and the Professor

Story Summary

The humorous story of a flea and a professor.

Once upon a time, in a small corner of Denmark, there lived a professor. This professor was full of strange and odd ideas. One day, he discovered a flea in his messy laboratory. This flea was quite remarkable. Although it was tiny, it could jump extremely high.

The professor's eyes lit up and he thought, "This is an interesting little fellow." He decided to do something special with the flea. The professor began to train the flea, and the flea was very smart and quickly learned the little tricks the professor taught it.

The flea jumps on the professor's hand

The professor took the flea to the town's market. He put the flea in a small box and then said to the people around, "Come and have a look. This is the most amazing flea in the world. It can perform all kinds of astonishing skills." People gathered around and looked curiously. The flea, following the professor's instructions, jumped high for a while, then jumped far, and could even do somersaults in the air. Everyone was stunned and clapped and cheered, and the professor made a lot of money as a result.

However, the flea gradually grew tired of this kind of life. It felt like a bird locked in a cage. Although many people watched it perform, it had no freedom.

The flea jumps out of the box

One day, when the professor took the flea to the market again, the flea, taking advantage of the professor's inattention, jumped hard and jumped out of the small box. It jumped into the crowd and then into the grass by the roadside. The professor searched everywhere for the flea, sweating profusely. He shouted loudly, "Flea, flea, where are you?" But the flea had disappeared without a trace.

The flea lived freely in the grass. It made a lot of new friends, such as little ants, little butterflies, and little dragonflies. They played together in the grass and rested on the flowers together.

As for the professor, without the flea, no one watched his performance anymore. He began to reflect on himself, wondering if he had been too unfair to the flea, only regarding it as a tool to make money and not considering its feelings.

After a while, the professor decided to change himself. He no longer thought about making money from small animals but began to study something truly useful to people.

One day, when the professor was collecting specimens in the forest, he met the flea again. When the flea saw the professor, it didn't run away. The professor said to the flea, "I'm sorry, flea. I was wrong before." The flea seemed to understand the professor's words. It jumped onto the professor's hand as if it had forgiven the professor.

Since then, the professor and the flea have become good friends. The professor often visits the place where the flea lives and sometimes brings it some small gifts. Their story has spread in the town and has become a humorous and heart - warming story among the people.
