In a quiet little village, there lived a kind and lovely little girl named Xiaohua. Xiaohua liked the moon very much. Every night, she would always sit in her small courtyard at home and look up at that big and round moon. She thought the moon was like a dear friend, silently accompanying her.
One day, when Xiaohua was playing in the forest, she discovered a magical big tree. The trunk of the tree was very thick and its branches and leaves were lush. Most peculiarly, there were many glittering small fruits hanging among the branches of the tree. Xiaohua curiously walked closer to the tree. She had never seen such fruits before. At this time, a little squirrel jumped down from the tree. The little squirrel told Xiaohua that these fruits were the gifts from the moon.
Xiaohua was very happy. She wanted to share these gifts from the moon with her little friends in the village. So, she carefully picked some fruits and put them in her small basket. After returning to the village, Xiaohua went from house to house to distribute the fruits to her little friends. When the little friends saw these beautiful and magical fruits, they were all very surprised.
There was a little boy named Xiaoming. His health had always been not so good and he was always getting sick. After he got the fruit, he took a gentle bite. Suddenly, he felt full of strength and his body didn't feel so uncomfortable anymore. There was also a little girl named Xiaomin. Because her family was poor, she seldom had happy things. When she saw the fruit, a brilliant smile appeared on her face.
Everyone was very grateful to Xiaohua, and Xiaohua told them that these were the gifts from the moon and were meant to be shared by everyone. Since then, the children in the village had become more friendly. They often played together and helped each other. Whenever they had something nice, they would take it out to share.
In the evening, Xiaohua sat in the small courtyard again, looking at the moon. She whispered to the moon, "Thank you for your gift. Because of this gift, we have all become happier." The moon seemed to have heard Xiaohua's words as well, and it shed a softer light, as if responding to Xiaohua's gratitude. And the children in the village, under the moonlight, fell into a sweet dream, and their dreams were full of the joy of friendship and sharing.
