Story Summary

An ancient tree tells historical stories to teach children to respect traditions.

In a small village in India, there was a very old and large tree. The trunk of this tree was so thick that several people couldn't encircle it with their arms, and its branches and leaves were so dense that it was like a huge green umbrella, blotting out the sky and the sun. The children in the village liked to play under this big tree very much.

One day, while the children were playing under the tree as usual, the tree suddenly spoke. The children were startled, but the deep and gentle voice of the tree quickly calmed them down. The tree said, "Children, I have been here for many, many years. I have witnessed the changes in our village and also carried our traditions. Today, I want to tell you stories from the past."

The children curiously look up at the tree

The tree began to tell that a long, long time ago, the people in the village lived a very hard life. But they still adhered to their traditions. No matter how difficult it was, they would hold grand sacrificial activities every year to be grateful for the gifts of nature. They treated everything around them with the purest hearts and respected every living being. At that time, people would share food under the tree, and everyone would sing and dance together, very happily. The tree told the children that these traditions were the soul of the village. If they were lost, the village would no longer be the same.

The children listened to the tree's story, with curiosity and awe shining in their eyes. They seemed to see the scenes of the people in the past laughing and celebrating under the tree.

The children sit around together and think seriously

A child asked, "Grandpa Tree, what should we do now?" The tree replied, "Children, you should respect the elders and learn traditional skills and cultures. For example, those ancient handicraft - making methods, those intelligent farming experiences. Don't forget our roots because of modern things."

The children nodded one after another, indicating that they understood the tree's words. Since then, the children have respected the old people in the village more, and they have taken the initiative to learn those almost - forgotten traditional customs. Under the tree, they told the stories told by the tree to more little friends, making everyone aware of the importance of respecting traditions.

And that talking tree still stood quietly in the village, guarding the village, witnessing the growth of the children, and also witnessing the inheritance of traditions on the new generation.
