![Theseus Standing in Front of the Labyrinth]
A long, long time ago, in Greece, there was a place called Athens. The people of Athens were very unfortunate because they were forced to send seven young men and women as tribute to Crete every year. Once these young people were sent to Crete, they would be locked in a huge and complex labyrinth, in which there was a terrifying man - eating Minotaur.
This Minotaur was huge, with a bull's head and a human body. It was extremely cruel and would eat anyone who entered the labyrinth. The people of Athens lived in fear, but there was nothing they could do.
![Theseus Volunteering to the King]
In Athens, there was a brave young man named Theseus. He couldn't bear to see his fellow countrymen suffer such a fate. So, he decided to step forward, to kill the man - eating Minotaur and save the young people of Athens. Theseus expressed his determination to the king of Athens. Although the king was very worried about his safety, he was also moved by his courage and allowed him to go to Crete.
Before setting off, Theseus' father gave him a white sail and told him that if he could succeed in killing the Minotaur, he should change the black sail to white on his return. In this way, when people saw the white sail, they would know that he had returned victorious.
![Theseus Arriving at Crete]
Theseus sailed to Crete. Crete looked beautiful and mysterious, but he knew that danger was lurking. He was taken to the palace on Crete and met King Minos of Crete. Minos looked at this brave young man, a little surprised in his heart, but also looking forward to his fate after entering the labyrinth.
Before entering the labyrinth, Theseus met Ariadne, the princess of Crete. Princess Ariadne was very kind. She was attracted by Theseus' courage and decided to help him.
![Ariadne Giving Theseus a Ball of Thread]
Ariadne gave Theseus a ball of thread. She told Theseus that after entering the labyrinth, he should fix one end of the ball of thread at the entrance of the labyrinth, and then let out the thread as he walked. In this way, after killing the Minotaur, he could follow the thread to get out of the labyrinth. Theseus was very grateful for the princess' help. He took the ball of thread and walked into the labyrinth full of confidence.
![Theseus Searching for the Minotaur in the Labyrinth]
The labyrinth was dark and full of intricate passages everywhere. Theseus walked carefully, holding the ball of thread tightly in one hand and a torch in the other to light the way ahead. He could hear his own heartbeat and also the strange noises faintly coming from the labyrinth, which might be the sounds made by the Minotaur. But he didn't flinch. Relying on his wisdom and courage, he kept looking for the Minotaur in the labyrinth.
![Theseus Fighting the Minotaur]
Finally, Theseus found the Minotaur in the depths of the labyrinth. When the Minotaur saw someone break into its territory, it roared angrily and rushed towards Theseus. Theseus was not afraid at all. He raised his sword and launched a fierce battle with the Minotaur. The Minotaur was extremely powerful, but Theseus was very agile. He skillfully dodged the Minotaur's attacks and then looked for opportunities to fight back. After a tough battle, Theseus finally stabbed the Minotaur's vital part with his sword and killed this terrifying monster.
![Theseus Following the Thread to Get Out of the Labyrinth]
After killing the Minotaur, Theseus let out a sigh of relief. He followed the thread he had laid before and slowly walked out of the labyrinth. When he walked out of the labyrinth, the sunlight shone on him, and he felt extremely proud.
![Theseus Sailing Home]
Theseus took the rescued young people of Athens on board the ship and prepared to return to Athens. But in his excitement, he forgot to change the sail to white.
When the ship approached Athens, the people waiting on the beach saw the black sail from afar and thought that Theseus had failed. They were all extremely sad. And Theseus' father, seeing the black sail, was so heartbroken that he jumped into the sea and killed himself.
Although there was such a sad little episode at the end, Theseus' heroic deeds of killing the Minotaur were always praised by people. His wisdom and courage became an example in people's hearts, making people understand that as long as they have courage and wisdom, they will surely be able to overcome difficulties when facing difficulties.
