In a thick forest in India, there lived a little deer named Banyan. Banyan was kind - hearted by nature but a little timid. It was friends with many small animals, among which the little monkey, Skippy, was the naughtiest and always liked to explore everywhere in the forest.
One day, while Skippy was exploring an ancient cave, he accidentally triggered a mechanism in the cave and a large boulder fell down, blocking the entrance of the cave. Skippy was trapped inside and couldn't get out. He shouted for help loudly in the cave.
Banyan heard Skippy's cry for help and knew that Skippy was in danger. But at the thought of getting close to that mysterious and somewhat gloomy cave, Banyan was filled with fear. His legs began to tremble. But when he heard Skippy's anxious shouts again, Banyan remembered their friendship.
Banyan summoned up his courage and slowly walked towards the cave. Along the way, Banyan's heart beat very fast. He kept cheering himself up: "I must save Skippy. I can't be afraid."
Finally, Banyan came to the front of the cave and saw the huge boulder blocking the entrance. He began to try to push the boulder with his antlers, but the boulder was too heavy. No matter how hard Banyan pushed, it didn't move at all. Banyan didn't give up. He found some branches and vines around and tried to pry the boulder open.
Banyan wrapped the vines around the boulder and used the branches as levers, prying hard. His body was full of sweat, but his eyes were still firm. After some efforts, the boulder was finally pried a little by Banyan, and a small gap appeared.
Banyan shouted inside: "Skippy, come out quickly through this gap." Skippy heard Banyan's voice and quickly got out through the gap. Seeing that Banyan had worked so hard to save him, Skippy hugged Banyan gratefully.
Since then, Banyan has become braver. All the small animals have known about Banyan's brave act of saving his friend and respected him more. Banyan and his friends continued to live happily in the forest.
