The Golden Deer King

The Golden Deer King

Story Summary

A golden deer becomes the king of the forest and teaches other animals to help each other and live in harmony.

In the far - away Indian forests, there was a very special golden deer. Its entire fur glistened with a golden light like sunlight, and its eyes were bright and gentle, as if containing endless wisdom. This golden deer lived deep in the forest. It was kind, brave and full of love. One day, a great chaos occurred in the forest. The small animals kept arguing over seizing food and habitats, and the former harmony no longer existed.

The golden deer among the animals

The golden deer was very saddened to see such a scene. It decided to step forward and become the king of the forest to lead everyone to live a harmonious life again. It walked with an elegant gait to the midst of the quarreling animals and said in its gentle yet firm voice, "Friends, we live in the same forest, just like a big family. We should not fight with each other but should help each other." The small animals became quiet when they heard the golden deer's words and looked at it curiously. The golden deer continued, "Look, although the food in the forest is limited, if we work together and distribute it reasonably, no one will go hungry. And the habitats are sufficient for all of us to live in as long as we respect each other's space."

The animals cooperate to find food together

Under the leadership of the Golden Deer King, the animals began to try to help each other. The little monkeys were agile. They climbed up the tall trees to look for ripe fruits for everyone; the little rabbits used their sensitive noses to find fresh mushrooms in the grass; the birds patrolled in the sky and informed everyone promptly when they found water sources. Everyone gathered the found food together, and then the Golden Deer King distributed the food fairly according to the size of each animal family. Gradually, the quarrels in the forest became fewer and fewer, and laughter and joy took their place.

The animals share their shelters with each other

Regarding the problem of habitats, the Golden Deer King also had a solution. It led everyone to check every corner of the forest together to find some places that could be used or renovated together. For example, the tree holes of big trees could be inhabited by squirrels and birds together. They could take care of each other, and the birds could also alarm the squirrels in time to prevent foreign enemies; some large caves were transformed into several small rooms for larger animals to live in. The animals learned to share and be inclusive. They no longer quarreled over shelters but shared their shelters with each other and worked together to make the shelters more comfortable and safe.

A happy party is held in the forest

As time passed, the animals in the forest became more and more united. To celebrate this harmonious life, the animals held a grand party in the forest. Everyone decorated the venue with flowers and leaves. The birds sang cheerful songs, and the little monkeys performed funny acrobatics. The Golden Deer King looked at all this and felt extremely gratified. Under the teachings of the Golden Deer King, the animals in this Indian forest have always lived a happy life of helping each other and getting along harmoniously.
