In a peaceful small mountain village in Japan, there lived a boy named Kazu. Kazu was extremely passionate about music, yet his family was so poor that they couldn't afford a violin at all. Every night, Kazu would run to the small hillside behind the village, lie on the grass, and look up at the moon in the sky, his heart full of the longing for having a violin.
On one special night, the moonlight was extraordinarily bright. Kazu came to the small hillside as usual. When he closed his eyes and immersed himself in the fantasy of music, suddenly he heard a gentle sound. He opened his eyes in surprise and found that the surrounding moonlight seemed to condense into thin rays of light, which slowly gathered together to form a violin emitting a soft glow. Kazu could hardly believe his eyes. He carefully reached out his hand and picked up this moonlight violin.
Kazu gently plucked the strings, and wonderful notes immediately flowed out. The sound was like a clear stream in the mountains and also like the twinkling stars in the night sky whispering. Kazu began to play. He played out his love for his hometown, his longing for his family, and his yearning for a better life in his heart. As he played, the surrounding small animals were all attracted. The little rabbit pricked up its ears and listened quietly, and the little fox also stopped being naughty and lay quietly in the grass.
The sound of Kazu's music spread farther and farther, and even drifted into the village. The villagers, hearing this wonderful music, walked out of their homes one after another. They followed the direction of the music and came to the small hillside, and saw Kazu playing with a violin emitting moonlight. The villagers were all stunned by this magical scene. They sat around Kazu and listened quietly. Kazu's music seemed to have a magic power, which made everyone forget the troubles and fatigue in life and filled their hearts with warmth and hope.
Kazu played until late at night. When the sky in the east began to turn white, the moonlight violin gradually became transparent. Kazu knew that this magical violin was about to disappear. He sped up his playing, wanting to express all the last emotions in his heart through music. As the last note fell, the moonlight violin disappeared completely. But Kazu's heart was full of gratitude, because this moonlight violin let him experience the beauty of music and also allowed him to bring a wonderful night to everyone. Since then, Kazu has studied music more diligently. He hopes that one day he can get a real violin with his own efforts and continue to play moving music.
