In a small village in Russia, there lived a lovely little boy named Ivan. In winter, the entire village was covered with thick snow, just like a white fairy - tale world. Ivan liked winter very much, especially the pure white snow - covered ground.
He didn't have many expensive toys, nor did he have colorful drawing papers, but he had a creative heart. Every morning, when the first ray of sunlight shone on the snow, Ivan would be eager to put on his thick cotton - padded clothes, hat and gloves, and run to the open space outside the village.
Ivan found a suitable branch on the snow, which was his paintbrush. First, he used the branch to draw simple lines on the snow, and the outline of a large house emerged. This house had a pointed roof, just like the place where Santa Claus lived in fairy tales. He imagined that there was a warm fireplace in the house and the family sat around drinking hot soup. Then, he drew several pine trees, and there were glittering and translucent snowflakes hanging on the pine trees, like diamonds shining.
Beside the house, he drew a cute little dog, which was the pet he had always dreamed of having. The dog's tail was held high, as if wagging happily. While drawing, Ivan muttered to himself, "Little dog, little dog, you should be obedient and guard the door of the house."
After drawing the dog, Ivan began to draw his family. First, he drew his tall father. His father was carrying a piece of firewood, as if he was going to add wood to the fireplace in the house. Then it was his gentle mother. His mother was holding a steaming pot in her hand, and there was delicious food in the pot. Next was his younger brother. His younger brother was smiling happily in the snow, with a snowball in his hand. Looking at the family he had drawn, Ivan had a happy smile on his face. He felt that this snow - covered ground was like his own magic world, where he could draw all the things he liked.
At this time, other children in the village also came to this snow - covered ground. When they saw Ivan's paintings, they all gathered around in surprise. "Ivan, you draw so wonderfully!" a child said. Other children also nodded one after another, with envy in their eyes.
Ivan scratched his head shyly and said, "Let's draw together." So, the children picked up branches one after another and began to create on the snow. Some drew flying birds, some drew colorful flowers (although there were no real flowers in the snow, but they existed in their imagination), and some drew a huge snowman.
This snow - covered ground instantly became an art gallery full of imagination and joy. Each painting was full of children's dreams and love for life. The sun rose gradually, and the paintings on the snow shone in the sunlight, like precious treasures. And the laughter of Ivan and his little friends also echoed on this snow - covered ground, making this cold winter extremely warm.
