The Home of Little Bees

The Home of Little Bees

Story Summary

A natural story about the life in a beehive.

On the edge of a meadow full of blooming flowers, there is an ancient big tree. Hidden in the middle of the trunk of this big tree is a magical little world, which is the home of little bees - the beehive. The beehive is like a small castle, consisting of countless hexagonal small chambers.

The little bees are busy every day. The queen bee lives in the very center of the beehive. She is big and fat, and her daily task is to lay eggs. Around her are many worker bees, which are like hard - working little artisans.

Worker bees are building the beehive

The worker bees go out to collect honey early every day. They flit among the flower clusters, suck nectar with their long mouthparts, and then bring the nectar back to the beehive. After returning to the beehive, some worker bees are responsible for passing the nectar to the worker bees specialized in making honey, while others continue to collect pollen. Pollen is also a very important thing. It can be used to feed the larvae in the beehive.

In the beehive, there are also some worker bees in charge of taking care of the queen bee's daily life. They will carefully place the eggs laid by the queen bee into special small chambers. These eggs slowly hatch in the warm beehive and become small larvae.

Worker bees take care of the larvae

Although the home of the little bees is not large, it is in perfect order. Every little bee knows its own task. They work together to guard this warm home. The beehive is always filled with a buzzing sound, which is the little bees communicating with each other. They use their unique dances to tell their companions where the nectar is and where the pollen is the sweetest.

As time passes, the larvae gradually grow up, turn into pupae, and finally break out of the pupae and become new little bees. These new little bees will also quickly join the work of this big family and continue to build and guard their home together with other little bees.

The home of little bees is such a place full of vitality, and it is the happy harbor for little bees.
