The Sons of the Wind God

Story Summary

The story is about eight wind - god brothers who regulate the climate and maintain the world's balance.

A long, long time ago, in the world of Greek mythology, the God of Wind had eight remarkable sons. Each of these eight sons possessed miraculous powers, and their duty was to regulate the climate and maintain the balance of the world.

The eldest son was Boreas, who was in charge of the cold north wind. He was tall and large, exuding an icy aura all over. Whenever winter arrived, he would puff up his cheeks and blow out the cold north wind forcefully, making the earth covered in white.

The second son was Zephyrus, who was responsible for the gentle west wind. He was like a gentle messenger, and wherever he went, he would bring a soft breeze. In spring, he blew gently across the earth, awakening the sleeping flowers and tender green grass.

The third son, Notus, was in charge of the humid south wind. He was a vigorous God of Wind, and his south wind always carried a great deal of water vapor. When summer was approaching, he blew the south wind, bringing abundant rain to the earth, moistening the thirsty land and making the crops grow vigorously.

The fourth son, Eurus, was in charge of the east wind. He was a wise God of Wind. His east wind was neither as cold as the north wind nor as humid as the south wind. At the turn of spring and autumn, he would blow the east wind, bringing a comfortable climate to the earth and guiding migratory birds to migrate.

The fifth son, Aquilo, was a God of Wind who was good at controlling local air currents. He could create cool small air currents in the streets and alleys of the city during the hot summer, allowing people to feel a bit of coolness in the sweltering heat.

The sixth son, Auster, was responsible for the air currents at sea. He could make the calm sea surface ripple slightly, and also control the intensity of the sea breeze when a storm came, protecting the ships at sea.

The seventh son, Phoebus, was in charge of the air currents in the valleys. He shuttled through the valleys, making the wind in the valleys become a wonderful piece of music, and also regulated the temperature in the valleys.

The eighth son, Hermes Wind, was a special God of Wind. He could integrate the powers of his other brothers. At some special moments, such as when there were huge climate changes or natural disasters were about to occur, he would play his role, coordinating the powers of his brothers and making the world regain its balance.
