In a thick forest in India, there lived a lovely little elephant. The little elephant was very kind - hearted, but it was always used to being taken care of by others and didn't quite understand giving. One day, the little elephant saw that all the small animals in the forest were giving gifts to each other to show their love and care. It found it very novel and also wanted to take part in it.
The little elephant decided to look for a special gift for its good friend, the little rabbit. It searched everywhere in the forest. It passed by a meadow full of blooming flowers and saw many beautiful flowers; then it came to a clear brook and found some round stones. However, the little elephant thought that none of these were the most suitable gifts. Finally, under a big tree, the little elephant found a huge pinecone. This pinecone was big and plump, and it also gave off a faint scent of pine. The little elephant thought, "This pinecone is so special. The little rabbit will surely like it."
The little elephant curled the pinecone with its long trunk and walked towards the little rabbit's home. Along the way, it carefully protected the pinecone for fear of dropping it. When the little elephant arrived at the little rabbit's door, it was a little nervous because it was the first time it had given a gift to someone. It knocked gently on the door. When the little rabbit opened the door and saw the little elephant and the big pinecone in its hand, it was very surprised.
The little rabbit happily took the pinecone and invited the little elephant to come in and be a guest. They shared delicious carrots and fresh leaves together and also talked about a lot of interesting things. Seeing the little rabbit so happy, the little elephant also felt extremely happy. Since then, the little elephant has learned to give and care for others. It often gives gifts to its friends in the forest, and the forest is filled with more laughter.
